My Little Girl
This is for my special girl,
who showed herself tonight.
I searched, and searched all the while,
but the time was not yet right.
She has brownish hair,
and big glossy eyes.
Her favorite thing is a pretty butterfly.
She'll stop and stare just to watch one go by.
This is not a stupid child,
she's a fragile one thats hurt.
But that won't stop her from being silly,
or playing in the dirt.
New things are still new to her though,
she makes pictures in her head.
When she crosses the street,
she look BOTH ways.
Exactly as mommy and daddy said.
Now I have to talk to this girl,
about something that's not so fun.
She may cry and scream, or maybe try to run.
She's not going to like this,
but it has to be done.
When I am finished saying,
the things that must be said.
I'll give her HER hug,
and she can finally go to bed.
