Am I Alone?
Where am I?
Lost in a sea of humanity.
Feeling empty and alone
Wondering at the insanity,
That surrounds me.
Why do I feel so alone,
Forgotten and afraid?
Watching the chaos
That surrounds me,
As I stumble
Falling into darekness.
Is it just me?
Isn't there anyone else
That feels this way?
As though the world has forgotten
And passed me by.
Does everyone else
Have perfect little lives,
In perfect little worlds.
Am I the only oe
Who struggles and stumbles through life
Wondering what is wrong with me
And what I did that even God
Doesn't hear me.
Am I alone?
Are there others like me,
Who grieve for what
They could have been?
Yes, There are others out there,
Stumbling in the dark.
Trying to find the light
That others see.
Lost in the chaos of their lives,
Wondering, what is wrong with them.
And if they are the only one's
To feel this way.
Grieving for what
They've lost and cannot find.
Slowly, I reach out
Into that sea of humanity,
And touch other lost souls
Gathering them around me.
We are not alone.
We feel the same insanity,
But we are not insane.
Rather the world around us
Has gone mad.
We are nothing,
If not the product
Of our childhoods.
Incomplete and somehow broken,
Struggling to find the pieces,
And put them back together.
Like a jigsaw puzzle,
That's not all there.
Slowly, step by step
We find our way.
Helping each other as we go.
Telling the story
Of not so perfect lives,
In not so perfect worlds.
Triumphant, as we clmb each step,
Putting the pieces, that we find
In their places as we go.
Am I alone?
No, my sisters stand beside me
And we hold each others hands.
Finding the light that others see.
Holding off the chaos tha surrounds us.
Step by step
And piece by piece
We put ourselves back together.
Shoring each other up
When life over whelms us.
Are we insane?
No, only the world around us.
Are we Lost?
No, we've found our way
Out of the darkness.
Are we afraid?
Maybe, but we have each other.
Are we forgotten?
How can a soul forget
When it has seen part of itself
In the soul of another.
Are we empty?
We are filled with hope,
Kindred spirits reaching for the light.
Are we broken?
Not, beyond what love,
Hope, and kindness
Can repair.
Do we grieve for
What could have been?
Yes, but we are learning to recognize
The potential in ourselves
For what we can become.
Do we stumble in the dark?
Sometimes, but we have learned
To turn on the light
And to catch ourselves,
Before we fall.
Are we alone in a sea of humanity?
No, as we make a profound impact
On one another's lives,
We find that we are no longer
ALONE!!!!!
