Haunting Laments
Haunting laments, cowering beneath covers
Sheets mask the life, death and fear of a nation
Close your eyes, open your ears
What cannot be seen, cannot be heard
Speak not but let the voices of your soul
rescue those without
Remember me in the sound of rushing water
The sparkle of the sun
The laughter of children
The tears of the old
The song of the first worken bird
The haunting lamenting of an owl
The twinkling of the stars
The beating of your heart
With every sound, let you remember me
And forget me
As the sun rises every morning so I still live,
As it sets so part of me has died
For every day marks a beginning
And every day marks an end
No-one can change this.
The tides cannot be mastered, by any man
Nor the elements tamed
The stars will not shine to command
Or the sun stop shining for the will of a human
Open your eyes,
The future lies at your feet,
In your hands and in the sky
We live only for one second in time's plan
One day we will look back
and SHINE!
